Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Ability Icons

While working with the Lead UI Designer at Sprung Studio, I designed a series of ability icons for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a Borderlands spin-off. Unlike conventional in-game iconography that is typically minimal for quick readability, these icons had to follow Borderlands’ signature cel-shaded, jagged-edge aesthetic while still functioning clearly across different scales.

To meet the client’s very specific requests, I led a vigorous thumbnailing process during production, which helped streamline the iconography pipeline and accelerate iteration. This method ensured that concepts were reviewed and approved quickly, making the final designs both efficient to produce and effective in readability across the HUD, loadout, and skill tree screens.
